Save Trees
Mother Earth has given us many gifts. One of them is trees. Trees are very important to us. Many of our tribes live inside forests which have trees.  Trees provide us timber to make furniture. Wild animals depend on trees for food and shelter. Trees help to prevent soil erosion and floods. They give out Oxygen and make the Earth clean and cool. Many products such as paper, gum, rubber etc are obtained from trees.  Trees reduce pollution and increase rain. Birds make their nests on trees. So friends, SAVE TREES by not cutting them and make them happy

Who is a friend ?

A friend in need is a friend in deed. It means that a friend is someone who helps you in your difficulties. It is not necessary that a friend should be a person from your own class or who lives near you. But it is important that a friend should be someone who listens to you and corrects you.  This weekend I have invited my friend home. We all have many friends, we also have a special friend. I too have a special friend. I like her because whenever I feel sad, I can talk to her. She listens to my problems. She tells me what is right and wrong. We play together. We share our toys and things with each other. We often call each other. I feel it is important that our parents should know our friends, so that we maintain a healthy and strong friendship. Now our parents are also good friends

Trees are our best friends

Trees are one of the best things that mother earth has provided us. Trees give us many things. For example, trees provide us shade. Flowers give us good smell. Some climbers give us fruits. Trees like neem are medicinal trees. Butterfly loves to suck nectar from flowers. Birds make their nests on trees. The chirping of the birds in the morning is sweet to the ear. Monkeys love to jump around the trees. We play under a big mango tree. When we are hungry, one of us climbs the mango tree and plucks the sweet mangoes. When we are very tired we even sleep under the shade of this tree. It is the chirping of the birds that wakes us up. Cool breeze soothes our mind when we are sad. We study together sitting under the shade of the mango tree. Trees are indeed a gift from God. It is our duty to protect them.

Indian Independence Day

On 15th August 1947, India got independence from British rule. Hence the day is called indian independence day. It is a very important day for our country. It was won by ahimsa under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. This year we celebrate the 58th independence day. The day is celebrated throughout the country. On this day the prime minister hoists the national flag over the Red Fort  in Delhi. He then addresses the people of India. The national anthem is sung on this occasion. Medals and honours are awarded to selected people. Buildings are lit with lights. Children dress up like our national leaders and sing patriotic songs. All the schools, offices and shops are closed on this day. All the people are happy and take part in this national festival

Importance of Reading

Reading enables a person to be more intelligent and knowledgeable. There is no one in the world who hasn’t read a book – it might be a school book, a comic or even a magazine.
When a child reads he or she can even find solutions to his problems through the books. Nowadays parents are too busy with their hectic life. They do not have time to pay attention to the concerns of their children. In many situations books can serve as guiding factor or helpline in children’s life. Parents should take care that the child spends less time on TV and Internet and spends more time on reading.
